About the Journal

The
Burlington Poetry Journal is an independent publication that is dedicated to the concept that art should be free and accessible to everyone. In a world with so many voices we believe in a community based, eclectic approach to the publication of poetry. Therefore, the BPJ will always welcome any form or style within its pages. We are currently working towards achieving a non-profit 501(c)3 status.

POETRY SOCIETY OF VERMONT SUMMER CALL

Hi PSOV Members: July 14, 2010

On Saturday, July 31s, 2010

Our Summer Festival will take place at Knoll Farm, courtesy of Peter Forbes and Helen Whybrow, our hosts. The address is 700 Bragg Hill Road, Fayston, Vermont.

Directions: From the North, take Rte 100 south through Waitsfield. Just before the junction of Rte 17 and Rte 100, turn right onto Bragg Hill Rd. Drive up half a mile. You will see the Knoll Farm sign on your right. Turn righ onto the driveway. There is a big red barn building and a white farm house with a huge cotton wood tree in front of the house. Turn left into the Parking Area designated by signs.

From the South, take Rte 100 north to just after Rte 17, turn left onto Bragg Hill Road and drive up Bragg Hill Rd. as directed above.

Council Meeting at 8:30 A.M. in the Barn towards the back left corner where the sofas are.

From 10:00 A.M. to Noon, Diane Swan will lead us in a Writing Workshop. Bring pen and pad ready to write! We are listed in the brochure of the Vermont Festival of the Arts, so we may have guests attending the workshop and the readings. PSOV members may bring guests, also (see below).* Bring your picnic lunch to enjoy outdoors, weather permitting, or in the barn, if it rains. There will be a dessert cake and beverage.

From about 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. there will be poetry readings in the barn, or, as last year, outdoors under the canopy if the sun shines. Bring your favorite author’s verses or some of your own fine ones! Think Summer, Poetry, Picnics, Camaraderie and join us at Knoll Farm on Saturday, July 31st at Knoll Farm on Bragg Hill Road.

One short addendum to the SUMMER CALL:

*We ask if you are going to bring a guest that you call Jane Wollmar (802-496-3428) to let her know. We need to arrange the writing space and Diane Swan wants to be sure to have enough hand-outs. As usual, PSOV is charging a small fee of $10.00 for non-members at the workshop. This includes the rest of the day: dessert, beverage, and a wonderful poetry reading.

See you there!!

Jane
